How Splendx prices industrial orders — and why MOQs exist
Minimum order quantities aren't a sales trick. Here's the actual math behind why a 50-piece line costs what it costs, and how an RFQ can move it.

If you've ever tried to order 6 pieces of a tool that's sold in cases of 24, you've hit an MOQ. The natural assumption is that the seller is being stubborn. Usually, it's arithmetic.
The real cost of a 6-piece order
Every SKU in our catalogue passes through four cost stages: procurement, inbound quality, pick-pack-ship, and post-sale support. For an item that costs ₹180 at the case price, that build-up is roughly ₹120 of goods + ₹40 of compliance + ₹35 of fulfilment + ₹15 of support — about ₹210 per unit at 24 units.
If a buyer orders 6 units, the ₹35 fulfilment cost doesn't shrink proportionally. The pick-pack team still has to pick the SKU, verify it, generate an invoice, pack it, and ship it. The support team still has to be reachable if it arrives damaged.
What an RFQ unlocks
The point of an RFQ isn't to negotiate — it's to give procurement the full picture. Tell us the exact qty, the lead time you can live with, and whether you need a customisation (logo, packaging, labelling), and the team can usually find a path: a partner warehouse, a consolidated shipment with a similar order, or a one-time exception with a small handling fee.
Most MOQs can be reduced or waived when the order carries a real business case. The system is just bad at guessing intent from a number.
When the MOQ is non-negotiable
Some items — OEM spares, regulated safety equipment, anything with a batch-numbered warranty — genuinely can't be sold below the manufacturer pack. In those cases the right move is to find a closer equivalent in the same category, or to use a bulk / multi-buyer programme we operate with a handful of partners.
Either way, the answer isn't 'we won't sell to you' — it's a different product or a different deal structure. The RFQ is the cleanest way to surface that without three email round-trips.
